The purposes of this study were to investigate perceived research self-efficacy, research
outcome expectation, and research productivity and to explore the relationship between perceived
research self-efficacy and research productivity, research outcome expectation and research
productivity. The sampling consisted of 191 nursing instructors from nursing colleges under
the jurisdiction of the Praboromrajchanok Institute. The three set of questionnaires used for study of
the research productivity, perceived research self-efficacy and research outcome expectation, developed
by the researcher that based on the conceptual framework of the Social Cognitive Theory and literature
reviewed. The content validity index of the perceived research self-efficacy questionnaire was .82 and
research outcome expectation questionnaire was .81.The reliability of the perceived research
self-efficacy questionnaire was .94 and research outcome expectation questionnaire was .92 by using
cronbach’s alpha coefficient. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and Pearson’s product
moment correlation.
The results revealed that the total scores of perceived research self-efficacy and research
outcome expectation of the sample were at a high level. The relationship between perceived research
self-efficacy and research outcome expectation were statically significant positively related to research
productivity at a low level
